Dance classes

We offer a weekly in person Dance for Parkinson’s class at Godalming United Church, Bridge Road, Godalming GU7 3DT.

These classes are now part subsidised by the Branch and Inclusive Intergenerational Dance (IID) is charging members £40.00 in advance for the next Term (10 weeks).

Each dance class lasts 1 hour and starts with seated exercises working up to standing and travelling dances, offering variations as required.* The aim of the classes is to enjoy dancing, trying different styles, storytelling and creative tasks.

There has now been a lot of research to prove the positive effects of dancing for people living with Parkinson’s, improving balance, gait, fluidity of movement as well as confidence. These regular dance classes offer the participants a great opportunity to meet, connect with each other and express themselves.

We will be continuing next term, the time has changed slightly, to Wednesdays 2.30-3.30 pm followed by tea and coffee.
