Guildford and South Surrey Branch

Tuesday afternoon social meetings

All members and their partners, carers, family members are welcome to attend these monthly social meetings.

These meetings are free of charge to attend although there may be a charge for tea and coffee, raffles, etc.

They allow you to meet new friends, learn from each other’s experiences and often hear a guest speaker whilst having light refreshments.

During the covid lockdowns we provided these ‘monthly social meetings’ over Zoom. We have now resumed ‘in person’ meetings at Shalford Village Hall, and we are also investigating the possibility of retaining Zoom meetings (in addition to in-person meetings) for those uncomfortable returning to ‘in person’ meetings. To register interest in Zoom meetings, contact Sharyn Bullen:

Upcoming meetings, starting at 2.00 pm, are:

25 January 2022

22 February 2022 - Branch AGM; followed by Amanda Dodson, Parkinson's Nurse Specialist, who has been invited to give an update on her work.

29 March 2022 - Presentation by Ivelina Dobreva, a researcher at the Institute of Neurology London, on the Vision in Parkinson's research trial.
Our own Valerie Box has been taking part for several years. The aim of the trial is to improve understanding of the changes in visual processing that take place in different forms of Parkinson's. After her presentation, Ivelina will answer questions.
